A light came on in my car. I took it to a mechanic. He has said that I need to have a valve body replacement - cost 844.00+
The car does not drive any differently. I need to get this car home from Raleigh N.C. to Birmingham AL
Is it safe? Will I harm the vehicle by driving it? Will I make it? I am a female....alone. HELP!

I would get a second opinion or take the car to a nationally recognized parts store and have them scan the computer for codes. Let me know what you find. The valve body is responsible for forcing hyd fluid to different places in the transmission for shifting. If it is shifting ok, I questions what he is saying.
