I used my 4 wheel drive then when I was done I put my manual hand stick back down into 2hi. But my parttime light stays on it feels like I am in 2wheel but some time it grips when I tuurn on a tight corner at a low speed and my gas mileage has changed.

If no fuses are marked, and I'm with you on that. Manual I have does not show any, try unplugging the actuator at the front axle, see if it goes into 2 wheel drive, then plug it back in to see what happens.
