ABS Problem?

I have a 97 JGC Laredo 5.2L V8, 160 000 KM. Yesterday, the ABS comes on everytime I come to a slow stop and try to put the pedal all the way down and pulls to the right a little. It then sounds like there is a vacuum. Otherwise, the vehicle is operating normally. I put new rotors on last fall and new metallic pads which squealed a lot. Three weeks ago, I had thermo brake pads put on. Unfortunately, I don't think the brakes were bled. Plus, when I had new shocks put on around the same time, they had to move the master cylinder to get to the bolt on the shock. So, no more squealing, but now this ABS problem.

Do I just need to bleed the brakes? Do you think it's the ABS controller/module/pump? I can live without ABS, but how do I disable it on my vehicle? As simple as removing the fuse?

Thanks, and I am new at the car talk, so I hope I don't sound as inept as I feel. :D

Possibly they kinked a steel line moving the master!

Thanks for your quick response!

With close examination, and further discussion, there is no kink or damage done as a result of the 1" move of the master cylinder.

Any other ideas? Again, how can I disable the ABS?
