2002 Jeep Laredo V8 All Wheel Drive Automatic 130k miles

I have a 2002 grand cherokee laredo with a v8 and 130k on it. Starting the car has gradually gotten worse. When I turn the key nothing happens, no sound at all. All of the electrical seems to work fine (radio, headlights, dash lights, etc.) Usually I would tap the brake pedal and the car would start up. Now nothing happens at all and sometimes the car needs up to 45 minutes to start again. I have cleaned the battery terminals and just replaced the starter and the problem continues. Any suggestions?
