2001 Jeep Laredo Fan stopped

Hi...My Jeep Laredo started to over heat today.....enough, coolent, no leaks....the fan has stopped....it is not seized up, spins freely...how do I tell what sensor needs to be replaced?

take the coolant temperature switch and put it on direct +12v if the fan doesnt turn on then the relay has failed or the fan has failed even a damage in the wiring harness.

if it turns on the switch or voltage to it is failing.
