1999 Jeep Laredo idle

i have a 1999 jeep grand cherokee laredo 4x4 4.0L. when i start it it revs all the way up and stays there it wond idle back down i have to shut it off

Clean out the idle air control motor/passages and also test it- if it continues look for a vacuum leak. If you have to replace the IAC motor-make sure its the OEM part
