Tie rods are involved in your steering sir, not oil distribution. If what youa re talking about are pushrods, then no, your oil pump is not likely to be your problem but clogged or faulty lifters could be. A good way to clean your engine would be to purchase a can of Sea-Foam from your local auto parts place and read and follow the directions for pouring it into your engine. This will clean the gum out of your engine as well as free sticky lifters and what not. This stuff will not harm your engine if following the directions correctly. I would try this avenue first before doing a tear down of your engine as it is cheaper and easier and may resolve your issues. If you think you have low oil pressure, take it to a shop and have them do a pressure test, your engine should run around 30-40 psi at any given time.
