I have had a problem with this tailight for awhile now. When I turn my lights on at night my computer flashes rear light failure. I have changed out with new bulbs 3 times now just to be sure it was not the bulb. When I brake, it lights up but it does not light up at night which is a motor vehicle violation. I cannot afford to have someone take it apart to find the problem. Any suggestions?

With a test light, check the socket to see if it is getting power. Chances are the socket is bad and not making a good connection.
