Heck, I used to do that with my 1st CJ!!!
All of my So-Called Friends Loved it!!!
It was always the same story, with them, lets do this in your Jeep, or lets do that in your Jeep!
I did it in the woods!
I did it on the street!
Then I FIGGERED something out,......... when I came Burning out of a Gravel parking lot, SLID HIM SIDEWAYS and CAUGHT THE PAVEMENT.
IT WAS A PERFECT "A-TEAM" STUNT!
WHEN BOTH WHEELS CAUGHT PAVEMENT,
Suddenly He Stopped!
When I had tried everything in the cockpit,
I jumped out and looked underneath,
MY REAR DRIVESHAFT HAD FELL OFF,
ALONG WITH THE YOKE,
IN THE YOKE WAS MY PINION----AT LEAST THE LAST 3 INCHES OF IT!
THE COOL THING WASI HAD 40 MINUTES TO MAKE A 15 MINUTE TRIP TO HUNTER ARMY AIRFIELD, Savannah, GATo be in a formation
We were deploying to Germany to JUMP in, in less than 18 hoursbe gone for a month!
Luckily, another Jeep showed up........and we DRUG (literally), my Poor Baby, out of the street and into the gravel parking lot.
HE SAT THERE........FOR DAYS!..........Till he got towed! (he was all alone!)
I worried about him contantly........In the Deutchland.
We gotta real treat!2 more extra weeks in the Fatherland!
When I got back to the U.S.A., Being an Airborne Ranger and All,
We got very little "OFF TIME"...........usually after 6 PM.............if we were not in the field.
It took me DAYS to locate my BEST BUDDY!
Storage of $25 a DAYFOR OVER 45 DAYS...Towing bill....fees....paperwork.
A ROLLBACK to put him back on post (at the barracks parking lot) $75
A whole differential housing, COMPLETE from the Salvge YardDays to locate one. $550
Tools and such for me to change it outIN THE DARK with a FLASHLIGHT!
YESSIR!!!
It was fun!

The way I answer those fun lovers now is, Lets take your Monte Carlo/ Accord/ Neon/ etc. "Muddin", it will be so much more fun, its probably never been done that way, I will even pull you out, if you get stuck!!!
