My question is My jeep has been running rough the last couple of months whenever the check engine light comes on. The jeep smells of gas, we just changed the fuel filter but whenever in idle the jeep shakes and loses power to where it will stall. We think the catalyic converter or something with the exhaust is the problem, the jeep runs worse when it's freezing out, but when its warm or dry it seems to run better?

Hi:
If the check engine light comes on there will be a code stored in the computer. Take it to a nationally recignized parts store and have them scan it for codes. Most stores will do it for free, and then you'll know what needs repaired or replaced.

Let me know what you find.

Joe
