Electrical problem
1989 Jeep Comanche 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Manual

while looking to buy a jeep comanche, the seller tried to explain a problem. it seems the jeep won't idle (or even stay running) with the two wire plug on the top of the GM typ alternator plugged in. remove the plug and it idles fine. is this a problem with the alternator itself, or something major in the electrical to the fuel pump or something else

Hi there,

This is a bit strange, personally i would be giving the car a wide berth as with disconnecting the alternator while running can cause problems with voltage spikes in the ECU and this may cause some very expensive damage.
