Engine Mechanical problem
1988 Jeep Comanche 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Manual 133xxx miles

This has happened to me with other cars. It wont start. All it does is keep cranking. Since I have a manual transmission I pushed it and had someone inside hold the clutch down while in first then release the clutch. This is the only way it will start. I understand that this happens to a lot of cars. What could my problem be if it doesnt want to start right away and the only way to start is is by doing that whole routine? Could it be the starter, battery or what? Thanks.
