I'm not getting any fuel to the carburetor when I step on the accel pedal. If I pour fuel in the carb, the car will start and run until it burns off that fuel (no more than a few seconds). What should I check?

Check your filter first (cheap and easy to replace). If it is clogged it may allow enough fuel to start but not enough under load. If you are still using the stock set-up, you'll have an inline filter on top of the engine that has threes lines to it. One from the pump, one to the carb, and a return line to the fuel tank. Check your fuel pump second to ensure that it is pumping adequate pressure (they are cheap to replace). You could easily check the pressure at the filter mentioned above. There is also a filter (fuel sock) on the end of the fuel pickup inside the tank. May want to pull it and replace it while you are at it.
