1984 jeep tranny

i have a 1984 amc dj5m or mail jeep it has the same motor as a cj7 a 150 cid just wondering about the transmision though its an automatic an i was wondering if it had bands i could tighten to stop it from slipping

As far as I know, the only auto tranny ever used in CJ7s was the TH400 made by GM. TH stands for Turbo Hydramatic. I don't know much about them, just thought knowing the type might help.
