Drive Train Axles Bearings problem
1983 Jeep CJ7 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Manual 140k miles

I have an 83 CJ7 with a 4 in. suspension lift. I have a vibration felt mostly in gears 3 and 4. Vibration goes away as rpm's increase and when clutch is depressed. I have had no ujoint failures, driveshaft is new.

See my profile....I take it you are in 2WD when experiencing this...

If you are running aluminium rims, check your lug nut torque, they are notorious for working loose, this would be a EZ fix......or........

Squishy engine mounts and I've had the bolts work loose/out of my transmission/ transfer case dampers (rubber connection to the skid plate, to include the "torque arm") it took a while to discover it, but it exibited the same symptoms you are describing.

Another posssibility is your driveshaft "attack angle" to the differential OR into the transfer case...Sorta a binding effect due to the steepness....I'm sure you probably know about this and have shimmed to lessen the effect of this problem!

I hope its that EZ for you!
