surging cold engine

2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee, 73k miles, 8 cyl

Engine surges when starting cold. Most recent problem was a faulty oil pressure sensor, which was replaced .... surge still persists. Once engine warms up a little, the surge goes away!
This (car) engine has always been extremely dependable!

Check the electronic coolant temp sensor, and air intake temp sensor.
