I have a 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee with 133,000 miles. Sometimes the engine will shut down after I let up on gas coming to a stop sign or even just slowing down. Fuel filter and pump were recently replaced as well as the transmission was rebuilt 2 months ago. I saw a similar question answered although my engine light does not come on when this happens. Thanks for any help.

Check the electrical connection for the Idle air control (IAC) valve, check the valve itself for proper function, and also remove it and clean it and it's port. Maybe try the last suggestion after you check the connection.

Good luck and let us know. :)
