2005 Jeep Cherokee Grinding noise

Hello, I'm working on a 2005 Grand Cherokee 4wd with the Hemi engine. After the car has been sitting for awhile, long enough for the engine to cool completely, a grinding noise is heard when cornering. Has anyone else had this problem? I'm hoping the transfer case doesn't need to be rebuilt.

When you hear the noise, does it change when you turn from side to side?
