Air Conditioning problem
2004 Jeep Cherokee 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Automatic

When the engine labors up an incline, the AC gets redirected and returns to normal at top of incline. Identical problem when heater is on ie. heat flow is redirected until engine is unloaded. All works fine under normal driving coditions on level roads. Grand Cherokee (2004) has 72K miles and condition seems to be more frequent.

First I would check the vaccuum system for leaks. The mode door is is vaccuum actuated.
An engine intake leak could also cause this, because it would cause a vaccuum draw.
Check this first & let me know.
