The turn signals on my Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo work at times and does not work at others. A sharp bump on the cover seems to make them function. I have ordered a new switch assembly. How do I remove the cover on the steering column to get to the turn signal switch?

Looks like you scored. All you have to do is remove the screws holding the plastic cover over the column and unscrew the switch to remove it, doent need the steering wheel pulled. Dont forget to disconnect the neg battery cable first.
