I have a Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited Edition and the problem is this: The car cuts on fine, but after driving it, it will (sporatically) jolt and then the engine idles. I press in the accelerator, but the car doesn't move, so I drive off to the side of the road. My check gauges light comes on and it feels hard to turn the wheel (power steering cuts off?). I can get it moving again after I let it sit for a while. If I try to get it started again right after I pull off the road, the engine revs and then cuts off. Any help or advice would be appreciated. What would cause something like this to happen? Is it electrical? I had a friend look at it who works on cars in his spare time. He said he could find nothing "wrong" with it when he ran his tests.
Sorry if I'm not giving enough information. Thank you for your help!

Have you checked fuel pump pressure? Has the check engine light come on?
