Limp mode? Engine has low power

My jeep will not go pass 20 mph and everytime I try to speed up it will not go any faster it will just begin to idle up to the number 3 or the idler but it will go in reverse with no problem. What is my problem?

Hello,

When a vehicle is in limp mode, it will have the service engine light illuminated.
Is your check engine light on? If so have you retrieve the codes?
This can help us point to the right direction of why it is in limp mode.
