Electrical problem
2001 Jeep Cherokee Automatic

Hi,
Sometime it happens that when I try to start the engine car doesnt start. All the display indicators go dead as if there is no battery in the car. I checked the battery it's fine still shows green. Now, when I disconnect the battery fully and connect it back again everything goes normal car starts but later after few days again I get the same problem.

Please suggest what could be the reason please advise.

Regards,
Abdul

See my profile. Just a thought, go to the SOLINOID and make sure all connections are clean and TIGHT.

Let me know if that was the problem !

Abdul,

I know I'm a little late to the game, but I actually incurred this same problem. For me it wasn't one issue, but many small ones. Corrosion on the solenoid and cables, bad battery terminals, and a weak battery. New brass battery terminals and a wire brush to all the connectors helped, but didn't completely solve the problem. I also upgraded from the standard 500 CCA battery to an 800 CCA battery. Once I did all of this, it seemed to clear up all my problems. My Jeep actually runs smoother now, as I think the corrosion to the engine block and body was causing a ground issue. Hope this helps. Take care.
