2001 Jeep Cherokee How to lift the caliper off the rotor

2001 Jeep Cherokee Four Wheel Drive Automatic 120000 miles
----------------------------------------------------------------
I have the two bolts out but the pads won't allow me to just remove the caliper. Do i have to compress the caliper first?

you need to compress the piston by using a c clamp. make sure the piston in the middle of the caliper all the way in. hope this helps. feedback greatly accepted
