Engine Performance problem
2001 Jeep Cherokee 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 75 K miles

holy crap i think i just broke my wifes car. I was going to try and check the spark plugs and was pulling on some bar that I thought I was supposed to remove. Next thing I know gas spilled out of it. It looked to me like a rubber spark plug head and I thought it was just stuck. Anyway, I thought I got it back together as I was able to get the clip back on it. When I went to start the car, a lot of gas poured out and I saw something smolder. It is a Jeep Sport Cherokee 4.0 froom 2001. Now my question...what the hell have I done???

I think you thought that the injector was the spark plug-either you broke the fuel rail/injector fitting/o-rings
