2001 Jeep Cherokee battery or alternator

When I try to start my Jeep all I get is a very loud clicking noise. Is this my alternator or do I just simply have to give my jeep a jump.

The battery is it good/cleaned and properly tightened? If in doubt get both the alternator and battery load tested they checked out-get the starter current draw tested. Or could be the igntion switch/park and neutral switch/starter relay and starter itself.
