2000 Jeep Cherokee 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

my jeep has ran hot too many times due to fan not working but now i have alot of oil in my water resevior and a small amount in radiator but no water in my oil how serious is this problem

possible failure tranny cooler inside radiator
