When I am driving around 40 mph and come to a complete stop. And the jeep levels out I here a bang noise that sounds like something is trying to get relocated. It only happens once after is I come to a complete stop. If I slowly come to a complete stop I do not here the bang. I have new brakes and check everything underneath for something lose. Do you have any idea what it is?

I do need to know what kind of jeep is it a Grand Cherokee? If so there is a rear upper control arm with a ball joint that attached it to the rear end on top. Use a pri bar and gently try to lift on it if it lifts then it will need to be replaced. My 99 Grand cherokee started the same way it was hard to locat the noise at first then it would do it over bumps as it got worse then when I would corner it would feel like it was loose in the rear. After checking everything u-joints and engine and trany mounts I found that this ball joint was bad. You can not buy this at any parts stores so I bought it from www.jeep4x4center.com. I also replaced the bushings on the upper control arm as I had the arm out anyway. Let me know what you find. I have included a pic of the rear suspension if you look at the number 2 you will see what I am refering to.
