2000 Jeep Cherokee hesitates and revs up

I got a head put in and now when I step on the gas it jerks, hesitates, then accelerates and now it's idling at 1500rpms in park?!?!?!?!?

i was wondering u figure out what the problem was i have a 1990 jeep Cherokee and it does the same exact thing if so what was the problem
