Hello,
First start by looking at the front on the A/C Compressor with vehicle off pay CLOSE ATTENTION to the very front. Now start the vehicle turn or leave A/C off look at the front of the compressor. Now turn on or better have someone turn the A/C on. Does the front of the compressor start spinning?
And does is kick in and out about every few seconds. If so you are most likely just low on freon. And a charge will fix it.
If front of compressor doesn't start spinning then it could be a couple of things.
A/C Relay
Bad Low Pressure Switch
Or a bad A/C Clutch (what you were looking at on the front of the compressor)
