Sorry to interupt but I think I can help, I have worked at a jeep dealer for many years and have seen this problem numerous times, first of all pre-load is the amount of pressure that is put on the bearings, the main cause of the bearings going bad in the jeeps is that when dana put the housings together on these they were machined wrong causng to much pre load. The best way to get this fixed is to get a reman jasper complete rear end, if you just have new bearings put in you will have to do it again and again. Hope this helps
