I have a 99 jeep cherokee and i have replaced the oxygen 4 times in the past 3 months. when i put the new one on it will be fixed for a while. but after driving for a bit on the new one it seems like it messes up and the engine light comes on and black smokes comes out, getting really bad gas milage. My question is what would make it do that useing up that sensor and cause it to make it run rich?

Check the temp sensor. It tells the computer how rich to make the air fuel mixture. If it is running too rich, it could cause it.
