1999 Jeep Cherokee car gauges

okay so the gauges in the car sometimes work when i start my car and sometimes they do not, so basically it says gas is empty, zero rpms, zero mph, no oil, nothing works and the airbag light is on, but sometimes they all work fine. what could be the problem? and where can i locate the problem at exactly?

Check with your local Jeep dealer to see if you are part of a recall that went out to a few years of Cherokee about their dashes having a defective plug.

Having recently experienced this in my 98 you may also want to check if someone did some after market work on the stereo as I found fried wires in my dome light that were also causing this problem. I suspect that someone didn't know what they were doing and ran something to the dash for an amp or something and left the wires loss when they pulled it out.
