I HAVE A 1998 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE LTD, AND WHEN I LOCK AND PUT ON ALARM, THE SYSTEM WILL WORK MOST OF THE TIME. QUITE FREEQUENTLY RECENTLY, WHEN I PUT THE ALARM ON, THE REAR WINDOW CONTACTS WILL COME FREE, SETTING OFF THE ALARM, REGARDLESS OF THE TIME OF 200 PM OR 200 AM. ALSO WHEN I AM DRIVING, THE INTERIOR LIGHTS WILL COME ON, AND THE CONTROL PANEL WILL SHOW THAT THE REAR WINDOW IS NOT SHUT, EVEN THOUGH IT IS.
I CAN USUALLY GET OUT AND RESET THE CONTACT BY GENTLY CLOSING THE WINDOW, BUT IF I TURN A CERTAIN WAY, OR HIT A GOOD BUMP IN THE ROAD, THE SAME THING WILL HAPPEN.
THANKS

Hi ROBERT OGILVIE,

Thank you for the donation and sorry for the delay in replying.

The problem is with the lift gate or lift glass ajar switches. Thsi would cause the symptoms described and the most likely cause would be excessive clerance between switch and glass/gate. Check the gate/glass latch ajustment, if too loosely adjusted, you would need to readjust the latch to hold the glas firmer and not allowing the switch to come into contact when movement of glass/gate occurs.
