This is a recently purchased vehicle. At idle or low engine speeds, the oil pressure reads low. no warning lights come on or anything. It runs without any noise or issues. And only when I hit the gas and am driving speeds or accelerating does the oil pressure move up to its proper reading. Could this just be a loose/worn belt or an actual oil pump issue?

The oil pump is an internal engine component. As far as a Cherokee with up-and-down oil pressure goes,as long as it holds steady with steady RPM, I guess its OK. I have the same identical vehicle, same thing, 326000 mi.
