1998 Jeep Cherokee Loud popping

I was wondering do you know what could be causing a loud popping noise when I turn? It sounds horrible. It also has started rattling when I am idling. Thank you so much!

Check the front axle joints. They are most likely causing the popping. As far as the rattle, check the heat shield on the exhaust system. Many times a weld will break loose and cause it to rattle.
