My Jeep runs smooth during acceleration but idles very rough. It sounds like the timing belt needs adjusting. If that is the case, how much can I expect to pay for this?

I believe you have a timing chain in that vehicle. As far as the rough idle, have you checked for vacuum leaks? Also, has the check engine light come on?

Let me know.

If the light came on, there is a trouble code storred in the computer that will identify the problem. Most likely it's a sensor. Take the vehicle to a nationally recognized parts store and have them scan it. Most will do it for free.

Let me know what you find.
