The hinge on my door is wearing out and subsequently the door has shifted. Because of that, closing the door has damaged the metal around the latch. Repairs at the body shop will take place next week. In the mean time contact between the door and the sensor switch is not being made. The the car reads that the door is open and the interior lights will not go out. What is the best way to deal with the situation, until the door repairs can be made?

you can duct tape the switch closed or disconnect the switch.
