1997 Jeep Cherokee code 43

43 Peak primary coil current not achieved with max dwell time
OR
43 Cylinder misfire
OR
43 Problem in power module to logic module interface

What or how did you read codes?

I do a read from the odometer screen. Turning the key on and off 3 times, while holding the trip button. Then is displays the starting code number of 12 and then the problem code and the ending code number of 55. The code that displayed was 43

I would suggest taking it to your local Auto Zone or similar for them to read the codes to get a more accurate code. They should get a P and some numbers to pin point the problem.
