Shakes or Wobbles problem
1996 Jeep Cherokee 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Automatic

my jeep shakes violently at 55 mph, I had death wobble over the last year, and a few months ago after much frustration I tore the front end apart and and replaced EVERYTHING, balljionts, bushings, control arm heim joints( has a 4.5 lift) tie rod ends, steering stabilizer, tightened steering box ( all three bolts were loose) and added a steering box brace. After all of this the jeep ran fine. Untill last week, when I reached 55 mph and it shoock like I had deathwobble again, needless to say I'm at my wits end. Please help.
thank you, steve

Ok you lifted the truck so all the steering geometry is now off this needs to be staightened back out. They make kits to lower the steering linkage back and you didn't mention weather or not you put in a track bar that is adjustable with eurothane bushing or not. I would check out like skyjacker or fabtech and see what they offer.

The track bar is adjustable and the lift was installed 4 years ago. This started happening about 3 months ago.

Ok you didn't mention how onld the lift is. So what needs to happen is figure out which bushings are bad. The track bar bushings or the upper and lower A-arm bushings either at the frame or at the diff. How does the pitman and idler arm feel are they loose. You need to do a basic shake down of the front end.

The lower ball joints were bad. I think that was caused by my steering box being loose. How do I properly check my track bar to make sure the bushing and rod end are ok? I thightened the steering box after I replaced all the parts.
