I just had the transmission rebuilt in this Jeep and now I have a ticking noise that seems to go faster on acceleration.
Someone told me they thought it was a lifter. Is this a real problem? Or could the ticking be something else?
Thank you
Marilyn

Does the sound seem to be coming from the transmission area?

The clicking sound is coming from the front of the car. It is there all the time and goes faster or slower depending on the rate of acceleration. The car seems to be running OK--shifting OK--Transmission was just rebuilt. Someone told me it was lifter noise.
Would this be a major problem?
