Thanks. But would a clogged system give me this problem just some of the time? During the same drive some times the motor will cool off and run normal and run hot later on. It does not do it 100% of the time but more than 50%.

yes it would depending on your driving habbits, someone who is in stop and go traffic the engine will need to be cooled more. I am re reading your post rto see if there would be anything else i could offer. With you saying the vehicle runs hot then cold with the same driving, there is another thing to check is the wires that go to the temp guage sending unit, make sure it ihas a good contact. Did this do it before you put the new thermastat in?
