1996 Jeep Cherokee no get up and go

this problem did not start till my boyfriend changed the gas gauge then he flooded it and ever since it take awhile to get up to the speed limit i he has put so many parts in it in the past 2 days and nothing we took the new gas gauge out and replaced all of the gauges what could be wrong

it was not the transmission control unit it was a fuse in my car that was bad.
