1996 Jeep Cherokee gauges

My gauges continue to dim in and out when ever the parking lights or head lights are on. This also happens to my gauges for heat and a/c!
what could be causing this?

Hi:
This could be a couple things. First, take the jeep to a nationally recognized parts store and have them test the alternator / voltage regulator to make sure it's putting out enough power. If it is, check for loose or corroded ground straps. I believe there is one from the transmission to the under carrage of the car which is a common problem.
