1995 Jeep Cherokee Knock Sensor

My 95 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4.0 just failed smog. Everything passed with flying colors except the final test which shows it running to rich. This leads me to believe that it's probably the knock sensor has gone bad. Is there a way to test to see if the knock sensor is working properly?

Actually, chances are the knock sensor has nothing to do with it. If there is no check engine light, my first guess would be an O2 sensor or the ambient temp sensor.
