Engine Mechanical problem
1995 Jeep Cherokee 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

I have purchased a new battery for the vehicle. I let the vehicle sit a couple of days before starting it, as I am doing repairs to the vehicle. The battery has discharged and will not maintain a charge unless you start and let it run for a while every day. I took the battery to the automotive store where I purchased it and had it checked and charged; however once back in the vehicle it has done the same thing.
What could be the problem?

Hello,

The most probable cause is a draw on the battery.

To check for Battery Draw using a test light just remove the positive cable and connect the light between the cable and the terminal. If light is on then you have a draw, the brighter the light the bigger the draw.

To find the curcuit the draw is on you can start pulling fuses one at a time and replacing when light goes out you have found the curcuit. Then just trace wires till find short.
