This guy ran his car pretty hot, out of oil. I am trying to remove the oil filter and am having a very difficult time do you have any suggestions, Other then cutting it all to pieces.

I would recommend a large set of channel lock pliers and grab the filter at the base ring right where it attaches to the engine. That is the strongest point.
Let me know if you get it. NOTE: You may want to disconnect the battery if you are doing this in case the pliers fall. The starter is right under the flter and can short.
