1993 Jeep Cherokee gas tank problems

fuel pump was replaced a few weeks ago since then every time i try to put gas in it leaks out and the gas pump is constantly shutting itself off before i am done

sounds like the vapor line or the fuel filler line wasnt hooked up properly, the check valve may be bad also, or unlikely but possible the carbon can may be bad.
