Engine Performance problem
1991 Jeep Cherokee 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Automatic

whenever I put the Jeep in reverse and apply the throttle it will die. If I don't touch the gaspedal it will idle on back. I have tried moving the wiring harness while idling to see if there is a short when the motor torques over but nothing happens.

Does this happen at any other times? For example, in drive, when the engine is cold, hot?

No. I never have a problem in drive. Only in reverse.
