1990 Jeep Cherokee Gas in Oil

the oil is consistantly saturated (very thin) with gasoline. I have had the fuel regulator changed, injectors adjusted. I had an oil change 2/20/08 and it is very saturated with gas already. Now the motor is knocking very loudly.

Can you please help

perform a compression and cylinder leak down test on the cyolinders you may have worn piston rings.

This is caused when there is a problem, such as a stuck fuel injector, an inoperative ignition system, or a fuel flooded engine, where the cylinders are overwhelmed by fuel, and the piston rings become unseated from the cylinder walls, and there is a breech that allows larger amounts of fuel past, into the oil below. If this happens, once the problem is repaired, the oil needs to be changed.

Small amounts of gas in oil is ok. But allot can cause the oil to be to thin and not lubricate well enough. IF the piston rings are worn the gas can get into the oil.
